Drug Uses

Proscar is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in low doses and treat prostate cancer in high doses. It is a synthetic antiandrogen. It helps to change the indications of BPH like frequent and painful urination. It may also help in reducing the chance of acute urinary retention.



Usage

Follow the doctor's instructions correctly. If you are doubtful or do not remember the guidance then you may read the medication label for more detailed knowledge. You may take the medicine after a meal or without one



Missed Dose

If you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember and space the next dose with 4 to 5 hours. If this is possible then skip the missed dose and continue as usual. Never take two doses of the medicine at a time.



Storage

Keep Proscar at room temperature in the original container itself without exposure to moisture, heat, or light. Also, store it safely away from pets and kids.



Overdose

Contact the nearest emergency poison control center immediately if you suspect an overdose.
